I'm a US 1.5 gal myself. I'm definitely in favor of moving metric, and would happily join a protest against 4 inchers. Why bother, is my feeling. But don't dis the Addis because that point just can't be beat. If only wooden would come so sharp. I've often thought of just trying out the pencil sharpener on them. It could work...

I love that blue! "Man Blue", that's such a great name...I bet my husband would love something knit from that color.

I hear you on needles sizes! Why does sizing change from one company to another?! I use Addi circs for everything, and recently discovered that their US 1 needles are 2.5mm, not 2.25mm. (And their US 2 is 3mm, not 2.75mm). Does this make a big difference? I think so!

I love the feel of the Addis, but I love the Susan Bates needles for the engraved numbers on the side. It certainly beats needing to find my needle gauge and checking a half dozen needles each time (though when I'm on top of my game as it were, it only takes one or two needles to find the right size).

Knitting in America is quite an interesting book, definitely a nice read, in my opinion. I too wish Addis would have a more permanent way of marking the needle sizes. Ah well.
